Do you ever wake up after having a dream that felt better than the present reality? I love dreams like these, especially when they involve something I wish I could do in real-life. Jokes aside, our dreams can provide one of the best spiritual gateways to emotional healing.
An Example of Dream Interpretation
Dreams may reveal the subtle nature of our subconscious, and channeled messages contained within them can give us insight into problems faced in our 3D reality. Analyzed alongside our intuition, dreams become one of the greatest navigational tools for spiritual healing.
As an example, I had someone call me recently to discuss the meaning of a dream. The scene opened with this person driving alongside his former father-in-law who had recently passed away. Both individuals were in a car and came to a stop sign. Then, the scene switched to the father-in-law’s house where a stack of documents lay on the table after being purposefully saved.
Were these visuals a random coincidence? Or could they possibly have deeper meaning?
Deciphering Symbolism
Listening to the story and knowing the background history, spiritual symbolism was definitely apparent. The real-life relationship between father and former son-in-law had been contentious, which was acknowledged by barriers indicated within the dream's symbolism (the stop sign). In 3D, this person had wondered if his former father-in-law perceived him favorably before death as they had lost contact.
The interpretation? Yes - distance, another aspect of symbolism, reflected the father-in-law side by side in the vehicle. Had distance occurred between the two of them, the interpretation would have had a different meaning.
The stack of papers on the desk? A sign the former the father-in-law was communicating this person’s writings were valuable. Writing as a tool was a unique part of the dreamer’s essence, and hearing the interpretation of the unique symbolism within this dream brought him peace.
From this example we see, this person’s dreams had contained all the symbols necessary to answer the questions about this relationship in his present reality. Not every dream will have spiritual involvement, but in those that do, identification of common trends combined with our intuition can help apply their significance to our present reality.
Here are a few ways to interpret dreams:
Reflect on your dream and see if any of the symbolism resonates with you. Afterwards, consider the symbols and their potential spiritual meaning. Here are a few examples:
Barriers: Stop signs, red lights, and road blocks can indicate barriers.
Are you experiencing a barrier in your personal or professional life?
How does this relate to your dream?
How is this correlated with what you're experiencing in the 3D?
Distance: Distance between you and another person can represent closeness, tension, or longing.
How close are you to this person in your dream? Are you far away? Are they standing with you?
This can give you insight into the relationship you're struggling to perceive in the 3D.
Feelings: The way we feel during dreams can feel intense. It's often the reason why we wake up angry after having a dream our significant other is cheating! In this example, we see a perfect representation of a triggered shadow aspect. So ask yourself:
Was your shadow-self triggered?
Have you been pushing aside shadow work when you know there's more in need of healing?
Spiritual Resonance: Spiritual dreams simply feel different. Something about them feels otherworldly and carries more significance than regular dreams.
Did it feel like a spiritual dream? It sounds like a silly question, but you'll know when certain dreams carry a "spiritual" feeling.
Not all dreams are representative of our reality. Sometimes, dreams are just our way of processing. Have you been asking for a sign from beyond? Or wondering about someone? This could be the sign you've been wanting. As stated above, dreams can be a wake up call from our shadow self. When I dream of tense situations I've gone through in the past, it tells me my shadow self has more in need of healing.
